Masuk kedalam famili Serranidae, Hidup di Terumbu dalam, kedalaman 45–375 m; sirip ekor bulat, bergaris dan mirip dengan 51.43 tetapi berbeda karena memiliki bercak yang lebih gelap dan lebih besar pada duri sirip punggung yang tidak bergabung ke garis yang lebih rendah, dan umumnya bersirip kuning; Indo–Pasifik Barat; sampai 63 cm.

Enter the Serranidae family, Live on Deep reefs, 45–375 m depth; caudal fin rounded, striped and similar to 51.43 but differs in having a larger and much more extensive darker blotch on its dorsal-fin spines that is not joined to a lower stripe, and mostly yellow fins; Indo–W. Pacific; to 63 cm.
